Mission statement

This   essay   deals   with   three   mission   statements   of   human   service   organizations. It   evaluates   the   effectiveness   of   each, as   a   qualitative   mission   statement.  A mission statement is defined as , â€Å" a   brief   description   of   a   company’s fundamental purpose. A   mission   statement   answers   the   question, â€Å" why   do   we exist?’ It articulates   the   company’s   purpose   both   for   those   in   the   organization   and   in   the public†. ( Ward Susan )Statement 1   :The   first   mission   statement   chosen   for   this   essay   is   that   of   the   center   for   faith-  based   &   community   initiatives, Unites   States   department   of   health   and   human   services.  It   consists   of   three   paragraphs. The   first   paragraph   says   that   it   intends   to   create  an   environment   where   faith   based   and   community   based   organizations   are   invited  to   be   partners, â€Å" to   focus   on   improving   human   services   for   our   country’s   neediest  citizens †.The   second   paragraph   mentions   that   many   more   faith   based   and   community  based   organizations   have   been   made   partners, and   offered   technical   help   the   needy  citizens. It   also   says   that   it   has   collaboration   with   many   old   organizations   and   its  staff   is   trained   well   to â€Å" understand   how   to   reach   out   and   partner   with   these  organizations†.The   third   paragraph   states   that   it â€Å"provides   information   and   training,   but   does   not   take   decisions   on   which   groups   will   be   funded†. It   further   gives   web   links   for  more information.   Analysis   of   this   mission   statement   reveals   that   it   does   not   convey â€Å" what† is/are  the   real   functions   of   the   center. The   statement   has   words   which   have   too   broad  meanings, like â€Å" partners†, â€Å" collaboration†, etc. By   reading   this   statement   the   only  aspects   which   become   clear   are   that   the   center   makes   partnerships   with  Ã‚   faith   based   and   community based   organizations   to   help   needy   citizens   and   it   does   not   take   decisions   on   funding.Answers   to   what   type   of   â€Å" information   and   help† is mgiven   to   partners   is totally   missing. This   is   achieved  through   theoretical   and   practical   exposures   in   school   and   community   settings. It  claims   that   each   of   its   graduates   will   have   a   commitment   to   social   justice,  cultivation   of   the   intellect, and   willingness   to   serve.This   is   an   ideal   example   of   a   good   mission   statement. Needless   to   say   that  assimilation   of   knowledge   is   the   mission   of   any   department   of   an   University, but  this   statement   further   clarifies   the   areas   of   knowledge   to   be  Ã‚   imparted, how   it   is  imparted   and   what   are   the   expected   results   of   its   mission. It   is   founded   on  the   belief   that   the   first   and   most   sacred   obligation   as   parents, citizens   and   human  beings   is   to   protect   children   from   harm. Its   aim   is   to   build   a   powerful, non  partisan   force   to   protect   children   from   abuse, exploitation   and   neglect. It   is   also  clear   that   the   tools   adopted   to   achieve   its   goals   would   be   a   determined   single-issue   focus, aà ‚   meaningful   mainstream   agenda, and   use   of   proven   medical   political  strengths.This   is   one   more   example   of   a   good   mission   statement. It   gives   a   complete  picture   of   the   motives   of   the   organization. The   goals   are   clearly   stated   and   the  means   to   achieve   these   goals   are   also   very   clear. Some   more   clarity   could   have   been   added   if   the ‘ how ‘ part   of   the   statement   is   elaborated. Few   more   words   on  how   children   will   be   protected, will   make   this   an   ideal   mission   statement. The only  drawback   of   this   statement   is   that   it   does   not   mention   if   the   target   is ‘ children’  on   a   universal   base, or ‘ children’ of   a   speci fic   country   only. The   other   two   are   very   brief   and   successfully   tell   the  main   function   in   a   very   brief   fashion. These   are   good   mission   statements. Consumers may take action against: Businesses they consider to be unethical in some ways (e.g. animal furs) Business acting irresponsibly Businesses that use business practices they find unacceptable Consumer action can also be positive supporting businesses with a strong ethical stance record.   A good example of  this is Fair trade. 2.4.2 Choosing Morality versus Greed Even though $300 USD a month may not seem like much to someone living in a developed country, in Thailand, or Romania, the Philippines, or India, its above the average monthly wage. Sometimes as much as three times the average wage in that country, meaning this person is actually very well off when  compared to others in their country. That money affords the worker a quality lifestyle in their homeland. It may even provide enough money for them to support their family, which no one is going to argue, is a bad thing. Throw in a few bonuses, some extra incentives for good work, and you have a situation where you feel like you are empowering someone and saving them from a situation where they might otherwise be earning half that money doing something like washing dishes. Solution to many international ethic practices lies in the development of international agreements and code of ethics. 2.4.3 Standardized and Strict Laws against Unethical Behavior. Basic laws should be made to protect human rights. Although laws, traditions and beliefs may differ in different countries a basic set of laws should be followed in order to safeguard human rights. 3. Introdution to Apple Organization of Apple was established in 1976 as a computer company. However, in the last decade, Apple has expanded into a complex company that specializes in much more than just computers. In 2001, Apple broke the barrier with the iPod, eventually becoming the dominant market leader in music players. In following, Apple joined the phone industry in 2007 with the iPhone, which has also been widely successful. Apple is known as a consumer goods company; therefore evaluating its value requires understanding its products and consumers. This would be very challenging where Apple competes with many different companies throughout the different industries it takes part in. 4. Unethical Practices by Apple. Apple outsources the production of its goods to countries where labour is cheap. One of apples biggest plants is Foxconn which is located in Schengen, China. Thats why the prices of iPhones and iPads in America and Europe are so cheap. Despite the products being cheap Apple makes super-high profits. This is only possible because iPhones and iPads are made with labor practices that would be illegal in the United States. And its also disconcerting to realize that the folks who make our iPhones and iPads not only dont have iPhones and iPads (because they cant afford them), but, in some cases, have never even seen them. 4.1 Illegal and Poor working conditions Foxconn is a plant in Shenzhen China where apple products are made. Foxconn doesnt really check ages. There are on-site inspections, from time to time, but Foxconn always knows when theyre happening. And before the inspectors arrive, Foxconn just replaces the young-looking workers with older ones. Most of the factory floors are vast rooms filled with 20,000-30,000 workers apiece. The rooms are quiet: Theres no machinery, and theres no talking allowed. When labour costs so little, theres no reason to build anything other than by hand. The official work day in China is 8 hours long, but the standard shift is 12 hours. Generally, these shifts extend to 14-16 hours, especially when theres a hot new gadget to build. The workers stay in dormitories. In a 12-by-12 cement cube of a room, Daisey counts 15 beds, stacked like drawers up to the ceiling. Normal-sized Americans would not fit in them. Unions are illegal in China. Anyone found trying to unionize is sent to prison. One group talked about using hexane, an  iPhone  screen cleaner. Hexane evaporates faster than other screen cleaners, which allows the production line to go faster. Hexane is also a neuro-toxin. The hands of the workers who tell him about it shake uncontrollably. Some workers can no longer work because their hands have been destroyed by doing the same thing hundreds of thousands of times over many years (mega-carpal-tunnel). This could have been avoided if the workers had merely shifted jobs. Once the workers hands no longer work, obviously, theyre canned. One man got his hand crushed in a metal press at Foxconn. Foxconn did not give him medical attention. When the mans hand healed, it no longer worked. So they fired him.   4.2Reasons why Apple has plants in Shenzhen China According to some of the Apple executives, Shenzhens factories, as hellish as they are, have been a boon to the people of China. They say the grimness of the factories, is actually better than the grimness of the rice paddies. So, looked at that way, Apple is helping funnel money from rich American and European consumers to poor workers in China. Without Foxconn and other assembly plants, Chinese workers might still be working in rice paddies, making $50 a month instead of $250 a month   With this money, theyre doing considerably better than they once were. Especially, women had few other alternatives. If Apple decided to build iPhones and iPads for Americans using American labor rules, two things would likely happen: The prices of iPhones and iPads would go up Apples profit margins would go down Almost all of the major electronics manufacturers make their stuff in China and other countries that have labour practices that would be illegal here. One difference with Apple, though, is the magnitude of the companys profit margin and profits. Apple could afford to pay its manufacturers more or hold them to higher standards and still be extremely competitive and profitable. Therefore Apple can afford to pay their workers more or even improve the working conditions. 5. Recommendations for further improvements. Apple should started unprecedented probes into its factories all around the world; these probes will put pressure on the plants that make iPhones and iPads. Apple should increase the amount it pays its employees and therefore give them a larger share of profits. They should reduce the working hours of the employees and pay overtime. They should try to follow the labour laws of their country of origin (USA) and not the lax laws of China where workers are allowed to be overworked. They could increase loans offered to these workers at lower rates, improve the working conditions of these workers by investing in their factories rather than investing so much money in marketing and advertising. They could pressure its branch, converse to improve the working conditions in their factories. 6. Conclusion A small sacrifice in terms of profits from a big company like Apple can go a long way for poor workers in underdeveloped countries. But companies like Apple face the dilemma of voluntarily dropping their profits in order to help these workers or exploiting these workers for large profits. The motivation for a company like Apple to help these workers comes from the fear of bad publicity and the reward of goodwill for being an ethical company. It is therefore important to keep close checks on unethical companies and boycott goods from companies that are unethical towards their workers. The hard truth is that several companies need to be motivated or threatened so that they do not indulge in unethical practices, therefore the responsibility of pressuring these companies falls on the consumer. By buying products from these unethical companies we are indirectly supporting them in their activities.

Economics in Asia :: Pacific Asia Economics

Since the mid 1960s, Pacific Asia has had a remarkable rate of economic growth. This growth has been sustainable and faster than all other regions of the world (see fig. 1). This region consists of twenty-three economies but it was just eight who caused most of this amazing growth. The eight were Hong Kong, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, China, (the â€Å"Four Tigers†) Japan and the newly industrialised economies (NIEs) of south-east Asia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. The eight high performing Asian economies (HPAEs) mentioned here will be the focus of this essay. What caused this success in Pacific Asia? What role did public policies play in engineering this rapid growth? How was the human and physical capital accumulated? Most of the high growth in the HPAEs was achieved by getting the basics right. Large human capital and private domestic investment largely powered the growth. High domestic savings levels meant HPAE investment levels remained high. Agriculture experienced rapid growth and improvement of its productivity. HPAEs population growth rate declined faster than in other parts of the developing world. HPAEs were also helped by their labour force being better-educated and having more effective public administration than other developing regions. Another cause of this success, was the development policy used. The policies were made to create a stable framework for private investment while increasing the integrity of the banking system, raising levels of financial savings. Education policies concentrated on primary and secondary schools to create a labour force with better skills. Policies on agriculture pushed productivity without pushing the rural economy. Government intervention was also essential to foster development. The growth of these HPAEs is highly unusual in the developing world. They are highly diverse in culture, resources and population yet they are banded together with some characteristics. They have all had rapid sustained growth with highly equal income distributions. Strong agriculture, rapid demographic changes and export booms. There are two main views of how the HPAEs were so successful. The first is the neo-classical, which stresses getting the basics right. This was providing a strong legal framework to promote competition (domestic and international), the absence of price distortions (e g price controls) and the investment in people, health and education. The second view is of the revisionist, where the government uses state-led development and intervention to achieve growth.

A Short Biography of Saint Joan of Arc Saint Joan was born on January 6, 1412, in the village of Domremy to Jacques and Isabelle d'Arc. Joan was the youngest of their five children. While growing up among the fields and pastures of her village, she was called Jeannette but when she entered into her mission, her name was changed to Jeanne, la Pucelle, or Joan, the Maid. As a child she was taught domestic skills as well as her religion by her mother. Joan would later say, "As for spinning and sewing, I fear no woman in Rouen." And again, "It was my mother alone who taught me the 'Our Father' and 'Hail Mary' and the 'Creed;' and from none other was I taught my faith." From her earliest of years Joan was known for her obedience to her parents, religious fervor, goodness, unselfish generosity and kindness toward her neighbors. Simonin Munier, one of Joan's childhood friends, tells how Joan had nursed him back to health when he was sick. Some of her playmates teased her for being 'too pious.' Others remembered how she would give up her bed to the homeless stranger who came to her father's door asking for shelter. Joan was 'like all the others' in her village until her thirteenth year. "When I was about thirteen, I received revelation from Our Lord by a voice which told me to be good and attend church often and that God would help me." She stated that her 'Voices' were Saint Michael the Archangel, Saint Catherine and Saint Margaret. At first her 'Voices' came to her two or three times a week but as the time for her mission drew near (five years later), they visited her daily telling her to 'Go into France' to raise the siege of Orleans, conduct the Dauphin Charles to Reims for his crowning and to drive the English from the land. Joan went to the neighboring town of Vaucouleurs, which means Valley of many colors. There she spoke to the loyal French governor by the name of Sir Robert de Baudricourt. After many rejections he finally agreed to send her to the Dauphin who at the time was living at the castle of Chinon. On the evening of February 23, 1429, she began her mission for God. In the company of six men, she rode through the Gate of France on her way to Chinon. Joan reached this town on March 6th, but was not received by the Dauphin, Charles, until the evening of March 9th.

Us Compared to Germany

I chose to compare the United States (U. S. ) healthcare system with Germany. I chose Germany because I know very little about this country, especially its healthcare system. The biggest difference I noted  is  that Germany has a universal healthcare system, whereas the U. S. does not. The people of Germany contribute 8% of their  earnings towards healthcare. The top 10% who make  more than $72,000 a year pay more for health coverage, but receive  more prompt and extra services (Lanier, 2008).Another difference I noted is that in Germany, there is no discrimination  when it comes to certain illness and  age (Lanier, 2008). The heath coverage covers  everyone no matter how sick or old they are. In  America, chronically ill individuals, at times, find it hard to  find an insurance company to  accept them. When they do, the coverage is usually at a much higher rate than  that of a  younger, healthier person. In Germany, there is quicker access to care.There is no long waiting period for surgery or procedures and it does not take weeks or months to see a physician like in the U. S. (Lanier, 2008). Many assume that there would be a longer waiting period in a country that has universal healthcare, but this isn't the case in Germany. America has the most costly healthcare system in the world, yet underperforms compared to many other countries including Germany (Davis, 2007). Some of the areas that the U. Wuthering Heights Movie and Book Comparison Paper

Each reader has conjured up their own special portrayal of the imagery and character evictions provided, with every scene of the dark, emotional novel engraved In their brain. The very Idea of attempting to make a film adaptation of the powerful scenery and copious descriptions seems unsettling. However, a brave British actress, director and screenplay writer, Andrea Arnold endeavored to meet this challenge In 2011 with her dramatic romance, Withering Heights. According to IM Db. Err adaptation of this film received a decent amount of praise and nominated for â€Å"Bronze Horse† at the Stockholm Film Festival and â€Å"Golden Lion† at the Venice Film Festival (â€Å"Andrea†). I contend that Arnold effectively uses specific film techniques while maintaining important elements of the novel and decisively excluding others to portray the basic themes of the original masterpiece by Bronze. In the scene following Heathenishly arrival at Withering Heights, the director employs a purposeful use of setting to express major themes of the novel.This scene addresses the first day Catherine and Heathenish spend a significant amount of time with each other. Catherine invites Heathenish on a horseback ride throughout the countryside. Catherine then proceeds to take Hateful up onto a giant rock, where they both lay, looking out on the vast rocky terrain. The setting used here by the director Is an open, broad and empty countryside that they ride across on horseback and then revel in its beauty later on the top of the rock. In Rampage, Bean and Johnny's book they state that â€Å"an image might soothe us or repel us; it might evoke our sympathies, trigger our fears†¦ (246). The imagery conveyed during this scene illustrates the importance of the effect of setting on the audience. The visualization revived by Arnold help to further our emotions about these characters, giving us a realization of their loneliness and separation from their environment. Th e audience can then sympathize with these forlorn characters while also recognizing the alluring beauty of their desolate surroundings. This setting portrays a sense of isolation and one of dazzling mystery; both ever present themes throughout the novel and the movie.In the scene nearing and during Catering's death, Arnold effectively uses the camera angle and a contrasting tone to display the devastating effects of Catherine Catherine after he hears that she has fallen ill. When Heathenish arrives, the tension between the two crackles with anger and Jealousy, however after Heathenish threatens to storm off, Catherine begs him to stay and they embrace. The angle used during their tight embrace of one another focuses on Catering's hands, highlighting her wedding ring.The director uses this angle to show that although Catherine may be legally bound to Edgar by her wedding ring, she is bound to Heathenish through love. The director also uses two very contrasting tones in this scene, on e of reconciliation, et one of regret. The tone of reconciliation is portrayed when Heathenish and Catherine finally embrace, no longer relishing in their own pride, but openly expressing their love for one another. However, a tone of regret is conveyed as they realize the consequences of their choices to marry other people.This is especially evident in Heathenish, who, by his abandonment of Catherine has caused her to fall ill, and she dies in his arms after their embrace. The director chose to utilize these contrasting tones in this particular scene because it follows the main themes of the evolve; the unbreakable love between Catherine and Heathenish but also the remorse felt for the effects of their actions. The closing scene of Withering Heights applies a significant use of symbolism and proper music. This scene shows a depressed Heathenish trudging out onto the foggy moors when a feather suddenly falls from a bird and drifts down from the sky.The symbolism of feathers througho ut the movie portrays the love between Heathenish and Catherine, evoking memories from their childhood when they would rub feathers on each other's faces. The reason the director would have concluded with such homeboys would be to convey the fact that although Catherine has died, an undying love persists between her and Heathenish. This final scene also employs the use of music, which was not done in any other scene in the movie. The song, â€Å"The Enemy' by Uniform and Sons, plays in the background while Heathenish reflects upon a particular memory of him and Catherine lying in the mud wrestling.The director employed this song due to its powerful lyrics such as â€Å"tell me not of heartbreak, it plagues my soul† and â€Å"bury me beside you, I have no hope, in solitude† to reflect pond the main theme of a destructive, yet unchanging love. Mainly evident in its love triangle, significant places and death of Catherine, the movie remains true to the book in a number o f ways. Throughout the book Catherine and Heathenish have this noticeably deeper connection from the moment they meet.Even though their relationship is halted when Edgar marries Catherine, an ever- present sense of a strong love between the two remains. The movie excellently portrays this love triangle when Catherine confesses her deeper love for Heathenish although she knows she will end up marrying Edgar. The film, like the novel, displays their love as still remaining strong to keep the interest and hope of the audience that Catherine and Heathenish will one day be together. The movie also places emphasis on the two significant houses – Withering Heights and Treacherous Grange.In the novel and the film Withering Heights, where Heathenish and Catherine grow up represents passion, emotions and instability whereas Treacherous Grange, where Linton resides symbolizes stability and peacefulness. Their depictions emphasize their representations, with Withering Heights shown as di rty, rugged, dark and mysterious ND filled with elegant furniture. Arnold accentuated the significance of each place like the book because it represents one of the main themes of the passion and strength of Heathenish and Catherine in Withering Heights and the passivity of Edgar in Treacherous Grange.The movie also shows a significant event, Catering's death, happen in the same way as it did in the book. In both stories, Catherine dies while in an embrace with Heathenish. The reasoning for the director maintaining the way she died would be to highlight the overall significance of Heathenish and Catering's allegations, and the suffering it brought to Catherine, both consistent themes throughout the novel. While one could easily count a host of minor differences between the book and the film adaptation, the complete lack of the second half of the novel separates the film from its book.While the first half the novel focuses on Catherine, Heathenish and Edgar, after Catering's death Bro nze shifts the interest of the book upon their children, recognized as younger Catherine, Hearten and Linton. The film adaptation, however, does not even address this second generation of characters or their legislations. While at first this may seem like an ignorant choice, the decision to concentrate on the first generation of characters by Arnold does serve to benefit the film by staying within a reasonable time frame while maintaining an accurate depiction of the first generation.The film effectively utilizes the time allotted to a normal two hour movie. Without removing these secondary characters from the film adaptation, the movie would simply take too much time to watch. Hypothetically, if the director would have included these characters, the relationships and character oratory's would very likely remain â€Å"flat† or unsubstantial in an attempt to cram all the elements of the book into the movie.With an ample amount of significant characters in the novel, the exclus ion of the second generation helps to depict the first generation of characters more accurately, emphasizing special aspects of their relationships in proper accordance with the book. The director of Withering Heights, Andrea Arnold highlights the main themes presented in the book by Emily Bronze by her cinematic techniques and her inclusion and exclusion of specific events and scenes. She effectively utilizes specific settings, angles, tones, symbolism and music to emphasize certain elements like the descriptions in the novel.

Personality Paper Temperament Description Who would have thought that such a little booklet could contain such personal and accurate information about each individual’s personality simply by filling in bubbles to answer simple multiple-choice questions? Upon first glance, I thought that â€Å"The Keirsey Temperament Sorter† would never be able to correctly depict my personality. However, I still managed to fill out the questionnaire in a careful and truthful manner despite my convictions. After taking the personality questionnaire, my results showed my personality type falling under the category â€Å"Idealist† as an ESFP.To my surprise, I found this to be quite similar to how I would describe my own personality type. By further research, I determined that ESFP actually stands for extraversion, sensing, feeling and perceiving. The description described an ESFP as a friendly person who helps others enjoy life. Also, it stated that they tend to make warm and enthus iastic friends and are more likely to pay attention to details and value a realistic approach to solving problems. Taking into my major in nursing at MSU, I decided to research if this would fit my ESFP personality type.After reading the ESFP description more thoroughly it gave several career suggestions such as nursing, child care, restaurant work, sales and counseling. Also, it mentioned that ESFP’s look for a job that is fun and prefer to work with others in groups. By expanding deeper into this subject, I found that ESFP individuals live in the world of people and possibilities. They love being around people and experiencing new things. They live in the present, and relish excitement and drama in their lives. I found this extremely interesting PERSONALITY PAPER because I am always excited to go into new settings and meet new people.When I am with my friends I am always the first one to jump at the thought of meeting new people or exploring new places. Another characterist ic associated with ESFP individuals is that they have very strong inter-personal skills, and may find themselves in the role of the peacemaker frequently. Coincidently, I found myself taking on the peacemaker roll many times throughout this year. Whether it is solving roommate disputes, family problems, or co-worker relationship issues, I am usually placed in the middle and forced to help individuals find common ground. Lastly, another haracteristic associated with ESFP’s is when under a great deal of stress, they many times are overwhelmed with negative thoughts and possibilities. Just recently I found that whenever anyone is angry with me, I solely think about the endless possibilities as to why they are angry. For instance, when my roommate was angry with me, I had an extremely difficult time focusing on anything else but the issue at hand. Consequently, I did horrible on the exam and the roommate dilemma was still not solved. Communication According to ESFP personalities, they do not like confrontation so they avoid talking about their feelings with others.This makes it difficult to communicate effectively with those around you and build trustful relationships. Therefore, one thing I need to work on is simply communicating and letting others around me know how and what I am feeling presently rather than holding my feelings inside. I found that doing so (holding emotions inside), is not healthy for your body and creates unneeded stress. Communication also goes beyond simply talking. Communication also requires everyone to take turns listening and discussing problems when PERSONALITY PAPER they are presented.Many times, I find myself struggling to have someone there to listen to what I have to say. Similar to my ESFP description, I am usually the listener in most situations and tend to be rather open-minded about issues. Therefore, many times I struggle to find an individual that will listen to me and give me good advice. So, another communication iss ue I could work on is finding a special individual that I can trust and share my feelings with (possibly another ESFP). Temperament Characteristics Along with any personality there are both positives and negatives affiliated with both.Several characteristics I found to be positive about ESFP is that they are extremely flexible, diverse, and â€Å"go with the flow† exceptionally well. Usually, when plans are changed I tend to shrug it off and go onto the next task. Unlike most individuals, I do not dwell on what could have been missed of an opportunity, but instead think of the many opportunities that a wait. Another positive personality characteristic associated with ESFP is that they are generous and warm hearted. I absolutely love helping people in need and would do anything for anyone.I will drop whatever I am doing to come and help a friend or anyone in need no matter what. My friends know they can always rely on me for anything whenever they have a problem (although some times they take advantage of this trait). Along with the good characteristics, we know that there must be some bad characteristics associated with ESFP. One weakness related to ESFP is that they are frivolous and risky with money. I found this to be extremely true because I am always at the mall shopping for clothes or going to delicious restaurants with friends.Therefore, not soon after I receive my paycheck from PERSONALITY PAPER Dairy Queen, it is almost completely gone. I often have to count on others around me to make sure I do not spend my money frivolously. Lastly, ESFP individuals tend to dislike criticism and take things extremely personally. When I first read this I was in awe. I thought it was crazy how accurate this personality test is because this describes me perfectly. Whenever anyone gives me criticism (whether constructive or not) I am always deeply offended.I take it so personally and sometimes even become saddened because I always like to think I am doing everythi ng perfectly. It is horrible that I think so negatively about myself sometimes because of my perfectionist attitudes. Many of these weaknesses listed are things that I could continue to work on individually on a day to day basis. Disposition Background When filling out the disposition paper handed to us in class, I was not aware of the quantity of dispositions we experience on a daily basis. No matter where we are or what our profession, we are constantly bombarded with dispositions of many kinds.It was interesting to become aware of the many dispositions we encounter on a daily basis and being able to better recognize the better choices in each decision we make. For instance, while working at Dairy Queen I experienced many dispositions in which I later had to reflex upon while filling out the dispositions paper. It was interesting to see how this assignment changed the way I would have made a decision. If not for the assignment I would not have thought, â€Å"How will this make th e other person feel and will this provide the better outcome? † Overall, being aware of these dispositions made me feel good about where I stand on issues nd made me think about the consequences of my actions. PERSONALITY PAPER All in all this personality and dispositions assignment really helped me determine who I am as a person. Throughout reading many detailed personality descriptions I was able to ask myself if that trait was a common behavior of mine or if that described my personality accurately. In addition, this assignment also helped me figure out what areas of my personality I need to work on such as communication. All in all, this was a great learning experience and helped me get a greater understanding of what it is I perceive myself to be.
